What is the departure revision?

The departure revision is an inspection of the apartment made by a technician of Emancipia to check the cleaning conditions, tidiness and the possible damages caused in the apartment that are not a result of the habitual use of it.

When is the departure revision made?

A few days before you leave the accommodation, a technician of Emancipia will contact you to arrange the inspection visit. The visit will be made some hours before you leave the apartment.

Keys

The keys, in any case, have to be retourned to the technician of Emancipia during the departure revision. In case of a later departure of a few hours, you have to discuss this with your current flatmates to borrow their key.

Some advice to prevent unpleasant surprises in the departure revision

Solidarity:

  • If you want to leave sealed food and personal care products, clothes, books, sheets or personal items, Emancipia will take it back to deliver it to charity programs. In that case, send us an email to tell us what you are leaving behind, so that we are able to pick it up. Remember that all the stuff has to be clean, folded and saved in a bag.

General advice:

  • Do not wait with the cleaning plan until the last minute. It is better to make a cleaning plan for the last few days in order to get everything done in time.
  • Do not leave personal items, rubbish or food behind.
  • Clean your room and the shared rooms properly  and organize the furniture so that it is in its original place.
  • Leave all the things as tidy as you have found them when you arrived.
  • Review the shelves and closets to not forget anything.
  • If you have found some damages in the apartment that are not a consequence of the habitual use of it, it is preferable that you inform us in advance, so we can find a solution for the problem.

Room:

  • You can leave the mattress cover, but please take off the sheets and the blanket. You can leave the sheets and the blanket on the top of the bed or in the closet.

Kitchen:

  • Do not leave open food in the apartment.
  • The trash bin has to be empty and clean.
  • Clean the household devices, especially the fridge, oven and the microwave.
  • The technician checks the dishes and the flatware.
  • You can leave the cleaning products for the next tenants.
  • The kitchen towels and the dishcloths have to be clean and folded on top of the table or put in the shelves.

Bathroom:

  • The bathroom has to be clean. Put special attention to the hair in the drain and the shower screen.
  • Do not leave open personal care products.
  • You can leave the cleaning products for the next tenants.

Living room:

  • Do not leave behind bottles, cans, trash or food.

Absence of cleanliness or damages

Cleanliness

  • If the apartment is not clean and tidy, Emancipia will be forced to call one or more cleaners. The cost will be 12,10€ per hour. The minimum time charged is two hours.

Damages:

  • Damages in the apartment that are not a result of its habitual use, have to be paid by the tenant. If none of the tenants is responsible, the costs will be divided evenly.
  • A technician of Emancipia will estimate the cost of fixing the damage or the replacement. Sometimes we are forced to add the acquisition costs.
  • If you have found some damages in the apartment that are not a consequence of the habitual use of it, it is preferable that you inform us in advance, so we can find a solution for the problem.
